Aminul Islam holds an MPhil in Materials Science from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, Bangladesh, in 2008. He received his PhD in from the University Malaysia Sabah, Malaysia, in 2012. Since 2012, he has been a postdoctoral fellow researcher at the Centre of Excellence for Catalysis Science and Technology, University Putra Malaysia.

Since heterogeneous catalysis is used in chemical industry for biodiesel production, achieving optimal catalytic performance is a signi cant issue for chemical engineers and chemists. Enormous attention has been placed in recent years on the selection of heterogeneous catalyst in biodiesel industry, where the catalyst could be facilitated highly selective toward desired products, easily handled, separated from the reaction medium, and subsequently reused.
