Without modern Instrumentation control, industry would be at a standstill. Whether the instrumentation control hardware consists of local mechanical, pneumatic, or electronic controls, electronic or pneumatic analog controllers, microprocessor-based controllers, programmable logic controllers, personal computer-based controls, or a distributed control system, a keen awareness of advanced regulatory control is required by engineers and technicians to make it all work.

"This is the definitive book on the use of variable speed drives for persons not generally familiar with electrical circuits, but exploring their use in process control applications. Many of the potential configurations are included for the various type of variable speed drives in a variety of automation applications. There is even an extensive tutorial for those of us not very familiar with electronics and with pumping technology." -- Dick Caro, ISA Fellow, CAP
